hey mark,
yeah i hear ya. we went into PG&E trying to get info in general about their renewable energy use (cow poop in particular!), and found out they were running this LetsGreeThisCity campaign so we went with that because it excited us. By challenge, what would you suggest? Again, not trying to be snarky either, I just didn’t know how to be challenging to a PR person. But I’m always looking for suggestions for interviews, as we’re certainly not trying to greenwash companies. Thanks for watching and commenting.

taking nothing away from a good vlog post.. I kept hoping you’d challenge her a bit.. especially since PG&E is an energy company and they do indeed pollute and they certainly profit from people using their energy.

i hope im not being snarky… just trying to let you know what was going through my head as i watched.

yes, i noticed those safeway signs too. they might be buying solar and wind credits, which are kind of weird. i should do some research and see what that means exactly…maybe i can get an interview with safeway.

I was wondering about these billboards, but always forgot to look them up– neat stuff.

On another note: I was passing the Safeway that is across the street from the CalTrains station and they had a sign outside that said the store was 100% run by solar and wind power! It feels kinda dubious, but it could be true.

hey mike…I was (and still am) skeptical of the committment that big giants like PG&E have to creating healthy energy systems.

But just look at http://letsgreenthiscity.com/.
we definitely want to give credit where credit is due when it comes to sustainability. You can go on this site and write anything you want. If you find damning evidence of corruption…put it on their site. Its seems very opne. I’d like to test to see if they will censor anything on this community site.

We always must be vigilent when it comes to “green washing”, where big companies act green to be cool. But the hope is that maybe this stuff is starting seep in because sustainability is good for their business.

Great post - I don’t know why but I was so surprised when you said you “got a chance to sit down with a PG&E”… I guess I didn’t think you were going in that direction with the vlog

But I’m checking out this site - I know I don’t live in the Bay, but it seems very cool.
