The ideas and business model behind Longleaf Lumber tickle our fancy in more ways than one. By reclaiming antique wood from demolition sites, Marc Poirier is the ultimate recycler. Like an archeologist, Marc delivers the history and stories behind almost every timber in his Berwick, Maine stock. Look closely and you’ll easily see the difference between a 400 year old limb and a newly sawn board from a warehouse store. Stay tuned as our story continues in the next video at The Longleaf Showroom in Cambridge, Mass. Special thanks to Ashley and Kyra from SustainableRoute.com for production support.

its actually Longleaf Lumber - one word.
Great piece. How did you find him for the interview? I’m curious if much is being done along these lines in California.
hey andrew!
i am from boston originally, so i got the info word of mouth through my sister.
i should look up some folks in california doing this, i think it’s great!
the advantage to companies like longleaf being in the northeast
is that there are old buildings that have historic materials for salvage.
that’s not really the case in california.
but i’m sure there are demolition materials salvagers here for sure.
i’ll check it out!
thanks for watching
