That's funny that he mentions treating his employees "like family." Just this morning I was on a press check at A. Maciel printing in SF. He told me he decided to use soy inks when he started 23 years ago because his wife and he decided it was going to be a family business and they didn't want their kids around nasty chemicals.

Thanks for covering this topic!

"It was for wellbeing" :) Wow. I guess there must be green printers like Eugene in the UK. my sister-in-law's about to print a book herself and my brother in law runs a very green chain of restaurants with lots of printing needs. I'm going to show them this. I love that he's able to describe how much thought he's put into everything, and how that shows/reminds you how toxic traditional materials and processes are. These are the things that I'd like to keep aware of, but so often I don't. Great.

Nicely shot, edited & scored too. Concise, economical, informative & engaging.

I love how passionate Eugene is about printing & sustainability. Makes it seem simple to switch over, but I'm sure he's going against the grain on so many different dimensions of his business.

Also neat to see how he's been able to attract clients that are more aligned with his values. It's always refreshing to find ways to not shill for huge corporations.
