Wendy and Mikey purchased a plot of land in Truth or Consequences, NM that had a 40 year old mobile home on it. They asked themselves a tough question: do we dump it or make it home? They decided to avoid the landfill route and use the refinishing process as a learning experience for themselves and for their community. Total cost for re-modeling? $11,000! That’s a heck of a lot cheaper than your regular old prefab house project and boy does it look great!

Wendy and Mikey have been an amazing inspiration both spiritually and physically to Truth or Consequences. I learned that everyone can do something and help a little and every little bit helps.
These two are definitely great, and inspiring. Everything they say about being a part of the process, diy, making the decisions is huge. So many people want to separate themselves from these things.
I cant wait to follow up on many of these stories, especially Wendy and Mikey. These are tough choices they are making. Building something new in an unproven place. Not isolating, but spreading out and possibly bringing some of us with them. The Web is what allows this to happen.
These are great - Wendy is an old friend of mine, Mikey a new(er) one, and I have to say you’ve sold me on making the trip to TorC! Thanks!
