The gun above can do 5/8" thick bamboo which is what I had, it has a special adapter included. You can also use a pin nailer (finish guns) for putting down the floor. However, if your parents are installing 100's of square feet I recommend the stapler. It will save a lot of time as well as your back and knees. I believe I was shooting around 90-100psi for the 1.5" long .5" wide staples. Hi Chad,
