Marc Powell is an anarchist, hacker chef who opens his kitchen up to strangers and friends every Thursday to cook up some amazing, hacked food creations. Attending a food hacking supper club is a mind expanding experience that teaches folks not to be afraid of experimenting with your cuisine. You can’t cook wrong if you have the right friends to help you out! During this particular five course meal, we had, among many things, the most amazing savory mushroom soup, fava bean soufflé, candied bacon wrapped scallops and a citrus meringue your grandma would have been proud of. The synchronicity of friends- old and new, of food knowledge- a lot or a little, made this one of the most unique food and friendship building experiences we’ve ever had. Marc fully believes that sharing knowledge through experimentation and cooking truly is revolutionary social networking. We would have to agree. Thanks Marc!

Very cool. I wish I had more time to be creative in the kitchen.
what a super cool intro to Marc and food hacking! Thanks for bringing us this. I am all thumbs in the kitchen, but after watching this, I want to try something.
@tagami,
exactly! doesn’t just inspire you to try something new? that’s what i loved about this night, it made me not be afraid to just experiment. tonight i made couscous with cinnamon, dill, cumin and paprika. DARING!
that looks so fun.
we wanna visit on a Thursday night!
marc is a great & fantastic presenter (dorkbot 2006 was amazing) - great video.
If only Marc had been there when Nirva and I deep fried everything in Kneel’s kitchen..
Marc definitely made everyone feel like we could do anything in the kitchen. everything tasted good no matter what we did.
i love the spirit of this video!
all thumbs in the kitchen, yes me too.
but i could be creative if i got off my lazy ass.
dig what your doing.
just curious were can i get one of those vacuum chamber from?
Hi maue,
I got mine from a skymall catalog- it’s a reveo marivac, and it’s a little pricy at 150$. they have similar stuff at bed bath and beyond if you look up “seal a meal”-style containers.
you can make one with a vacuum pump and some hardware! make sure it’s food-safe (ie dont use a vacuum pump used on cars or biotech).
