After watching our recent video about the Solar Decathalon team, John-Paul Flintoff emailed us about a much better system for flushing toilets. His video above explains that there is much better technology to save water when flushing toilets, yet the US doesn’t use it. This needs some research. Thanks John!

Oh my god. I couldn’t listen to what they were saying at first because of the electronic version of “Birdland” - my brain kept trying to identify the familiar song. But afterward, damn, awesome video. Where the heck do I get my leak-free toilet? Massive water shortages in my area will only get worse as the population grows. I want my siphon.
you can theoretically send off to the UK for a siphon from one of the few companies still making them, Thomas Dudley, and use that to replace the plastic valve inside your cistern - but you will need to take care that it will fit. there’s quite a bit of scope, but a major size discrepancy will fail. then if you like you can send off to interflush.co.uk for one of dave wilks’ devices to fit on top…
Now that was a proper Northern accent! As you said, needs research but I’m starting to realise how much a lack of knowledge of the basic ways in which your house/bike/car/etc works puts you in the hands of companies whose bottom line is money. Skills and information, information and skills… that’s what we need.
fabulous episode. We need more people like this in the world. thanks for sharing.
